If you are a visitor of Nepal, then Chitwan is definitely a place to visit. Being one of the most popular destinations in Nepal for tourists, Chitwan is sure to provide a good experience. On top of that, if you are a nature lover than this area holds some of the most unique animal and birds species of Nepal, including the unique one-horned rhinoceros, royal Bengal tiger, gaur, gharial, crocodile and over 450 species of birds. Chitwan National Park is surrounds the Dun Valley which is also known as the Jungle’s heart.

So for the safari, there are some things to keep in mind. The Terai, although very hot in the summer, can be cold as ice in the winter. A sweater or a jacket is a must in the winter and for the summer, cool clothes like light t-shirts and also strong walking shoes, a shady hat and sunscreen so that you don’t get burn. It helps to make sure if your cloth is not the colour black.

Chitwan is not only exquisite but also quite challenging to bear, especially in the summer. The land is filled with mosquito and the afternoons are so hot to keep your stomach ill. A mosquito repellent, some anti-diarrhoea tablets and anti-histamine tablets. But closer to the monsoon months, water proof jackets are helpful if you don’t want to be drenched wet.

Ok… now comes the best part—leeches. These crawly critters appear in monsoon and keep their presence for few months. To keep them away, salt or, surprisingly, a lighted cigarette will make them loose hold. But if you are bit, you may be infected so BEWARE. Just adds to the adventure.
