In Tengboche the Mani Rimdu is performed usually between mid-October and mid-November, the date of the Mani Rimdu festival is fixed according to the Tibetan Lunar calendar and announces the Mani Rimdu festival dates by the head of Tyangboche (Tengboche) Monastery Lama. The Mani Rimdu is a colorful festival which is not only popular in Nepalese people, also lots of tourists visit in Nepal to see this colorful festival and learn about Buddhism at Tengboche monastery every year. Tengboche monastery is in on the way to Everest base camp trekking so people can make Mani Rimdu festival with Everest base camp and Kala Pattar trek too or those who have short time they just make a trek to Tengboche monastery to observe the Mani Rimdu festival.

Day to Day

Day 01November 08 - Arrival in Tribhuwan International Airport at Kathmandu and transfer to Hotel. Overnight at Hotel.Our Airport Representative will pick you from airport and free transfer to hotel, a short briefing about your trip is held in the evening.Overnight in hotel.

Day 02November 09 - Sightseeing in Kathmandu Valley. 5-6 hours. Overnight at Hotel.This day you will go for sightseeing in the Kathmandu valley. In the morning after having breakfast you go visit Boudhanath, Swayambhunath, which reflect the local culture and tradition of Nepalese society. Then in the afternoon you visit Monastery around Kathmandu. In the evening you will return to the Hotel.

Day 03November 10 - 30 minutes fly to Lukla (2840m) and Trek to Phakding (2650m). 3hours. Overnight at Guest House.In the morning you have a scenic flight of 30 - 35 minutes to Lukla (2800m.) from Kathmandu. During the flight you can see the snowcapped mountains and greenery field below. From Lukla we start our walk and head to Phakding passing through the forest and following Dudh Koshi River. In Evening you can climb to the Monastery to see the Evening ceremony and back to Guest House.

Day 04November 11 - Trek to Namche Bazaar (3441m). 6 hours. Overnight at Guest House.From Phakding the trail follows the Dudh Koshi River and reaches Zamphuti. From there we can see excellent views of Thamserku peak. Then the trail climbs to Chomoa, the site of an agricultural project, an interesting place to have a look around and gain an insight into the farming way of life of these people. From Chomoa, the trail again climbs to Monjo (2840m.) and enters the Sagarmatha (Everest) National Park (1148sq km, established in 1976). Walking some distance uphill you will be at Jorsale (2830m.) and after a long climb with views of Mt. Everest peeking over the ridge of Nuptse (7879m.) the trail reaches the street of Namche Bazaar.Visit Monastery for Evening Ceremony and back to Guest House.

Day 05November 12 - Acclimatization day in Namche Bazaar. Overnight at Guest House.Today is acclimatization day with some excursion. We can hike to the Everest View Hotel, the ideal place to overview some of the outstanding mountains such as Mt. Everest, Ama Dablam, Thamserku, Lhotse etc. You can walk around the Khumjung valley where is ,old Monastery with head of yeti, Hillery School and Khunde Hospital and then return back to Namche.

Day 06November 13 - Trek to Tengboche (3860m). 5 hours. Overnight at Guest House.This day we leave Namche bazaar and walk for some time along the ridge and then descend to Dudh Koshi River at Phunkithanka. Then after crossing the bridge we ascend in the steep path up to the Tengboche. On reaching Tengboche you will see the local monastery. Tengboche have largest Monastery of Khumbu region.

Day 07November 14 - Mani Rimdu festival at Tengboche Monastery. Wang - blessing ceremony. . Overnight at Guest House.Today is Day for observe the Mani Rimdu festival in Tengboche monastery. We explore the monastery and interact with the monks there. Mani Rimdu festival is the famous festival of Sherpa people performed in the Monastery. In this festival Monks meditate for nine days which is followed by public blessing and the world renowned mask dance at Tengboche monastery. You enjoy the mask dance in the Monastery. From Tengboche we can also observe the awesome beauty of Mt. Everest (8848m) and its neighboring peaks Like Ama Dablam, Lhotse, Nuptse etc.

Day 08November 15 - Second day at the festival. Witness the Cham - mask dance. Overnight at Guest House.

Day 09November 16 - Third day at the festival. Witness the Jinsak - closing ceremony. Overnight at Guest House.

Day 10November 17 - Trek to Namche Bazaar (3441m). 1:30 minutes. Overnight at Guest House.

Day 11November 18 - Trek to Lukla (2840m). . Overnight at Guest House.

Day 12November 19 - Fly back to Kathmandu & transfer to Hotel. Overnight at Hotel.

Day 13November 20 - Transfer to International Airport for your onward destination.
