Before you book your tour or trip into Nepal with any trekking & travel agencies, it is very important to gain some information about the agencies. First, make sure the company is legally registered with the Nepal government and other travel associations.

We must inform you that there are so many trekking and touring agencies in Nepal. Many operate without observing the legal formalities imposed by the Company Act of the Nepal government, and usually are not registered in any authorized travel associations. Beware of individual and freelancer guides as they may not be licensed or registered.

If you book trekking and tours through illegally run companies, you will face many problems during the trek which will definitely spoil your holidays. So in order to be secured from such problems, please take the following suggestions prior to booking your tour with any trekking & travel agencies:

  • Has the company registered with the proper government authorities?
  • Has the company registered with the appropriate authorized travel associations?
  • Has the company insured their staff against accident?
  • Is the company environmentally conscious?
  • Has the company cleared all government taxes?
