Mani Rimdu is the most important festival of the Sherpa people. It is held during the tenth lunar month of the Tibetan calendar. It falls on the autumn season when large groups of tourists visit the Khumbu region to trek to Everest Base Camp and to witness the festival. The religious festivities involve ceremonies and meditation (Drupchen). The meaning attributed to "Mani Rimdu" is that ‘Mani’ means “part of the chant of Chenrezig” and  ‘Rimdu’ means small red pills that are blessed during the festival. The red pills are blessed repeatedly and then distributed to all those who attend. After celebrating the festival we starts Climbing downwards to village Pangboche and upwards to Pheriche.

The traveler can get acquainted with local culture their norm and value, traditions. Then on following the Khumbu glacier, we will reach Lobuche from where we can enjoy view of many peaks such as Amadablam, Taweche, Everest and other mighty Himalayan peaks. The next destination will be Gorakhsep from where we can move towards Kala Patthar which is one of the major attractions of this trek.  As well as reaching Base Camp, we have the opportunity to climb Kala Pattar (5545m) for a breathtaking view of Mount Everest.
