Langtang Trekking

Langtang Trekking is not only a gift of nature but also a place of natural diversity of many rare floral and faunal species. Langtang Region Trek is a mountain range that resides in the remote and spectacular Langtang valley. The valley comprises of mountain lakes like the popular pilgrimage site Gosaikunda Lake and the beautiful Helambu. The area around the valley is marked as a National Park and a conservation area where one can trek with appropriate passes. During the trek, the wonderful view of the ice flutes of the Gyangchempo glacier is a prize that this trip gives you.

The trail stars from the base of Trishuli river, on the north of Kathmandu valley. The drive takes you through the Trishuli bazaar, Dhunche, and Syabrubensi. The village of Syabrubensi is a Sherpa village that is located at the edge of the Langtang National Park where one can experience the ways of living of the so revered mountaineers of the world. Langtang Trek takes you to the east into the Langtang valley with many river crossings along the way as the trail takes you through a gorge-like, lower section of the valley. The trek exhibits wonderful forests of oak and other coniferous trees, and rhododendron forests that gleam in sunlight to give the most picturesque view amidst the glacial moraine that one can imagine.

The glacial trail leads to the Tamang village of Langtang from which Kyangin Gompa is nearby. There trekkers can have a chance to taste the sample of the local yak cheese. Further along the way, the Nubamatang, a nestled hidden valley between the glaciers, is visited which is also the marking point for the Tibetan gateway. Then the trail forwads through Syabru, Sing Gompa, and then to Gosaikunda, a sacred lake lies on a high plateau. Finally, the crossing of the Llaurebena pass continues south to leave the Langtang region Treks behind as we pass through the Helambu valley to Gul Bhanjyang. From there, a few days trail leads to Kathmandu marking the end of the trekking.
